ABOUT US

1 About SABS

UK Education Union Study Abroad Bursary Scheme (SABS) is a post-pandemic initiative to financially help international students to study in the UK.

2 How does it work?

Step 1 Submit your SABS application

Fill in the SABS application form and send it back to us together with your supporting documents.
We pre-check your documents, which normally takes 3-5 working days. If we need further information we will contact you via email.

Step 2 We submit your University applications

After pre-check we forward your documents to your chosen universities for offer assessment. The normal application processing time is between 4-8 weeks.

Step 3 Accept your offer and complete first year of study

If your university applications are successful, you will receive your offer via email.
You need to accept one offer, enrol on the course and successfully complete first year of study.

Step 4 Claim your bursary

We require your first year official transcript for verification, it normally take 5-10 working days.
After we have verified your transcript, we will send you an email to confirm the total amount of your bursary.
Payments will be arranged within 5 working days by cheque or bank transfer.

3 Who is eligible?

Any international students who want to study at a British University.

4 How much can I receive?

Basic Award：200 pounds
Outstanding Achievement Award：100 to 200 pounds
Introducer Award：50 pounds per introduced person

5 Is there a limit on the number of awards per year?

6 How can I qualify for the bursary?

Basic award: Obtain an unconditional offer from the participating universities and complete first year of study.
Outstanding Achievement Award: Qualify for Basic Award and achieve an average score of 50, 60, or 70 to receive 100, 150, or 200 pounds.
Introducer Award: Every person introduced qualifies for the basic award, with the introducer qualifying for 50 pounds.

7 Is there a deadline to apply for the bursary?

Yes, your bursary application deadline is 14 days before your chosen university application deadline.

8 What course can I apply for?

International foundation courses
Undergraduate courses
Pre-Master courses
Postgraduate courses

(Note: Courses must be full time)

9 Do I need to pay any fees?

No, but universities may charge application fees.

10 I have received an university offer, can I still apply for the bursary?

You cannot apply for the bursary for offers that you have already received, but you can apply for other universities or courses to be eligible.
